A POLYGONAL WOODEN FRAME MADE OF
RECYCLED BOARDS.
This pavilion explores the potential of a polygonal mesh structure. This structure is particularly efficient both from a mechanical point of view and from a material saving point of view.
The Biomim' Pavilion is made of finishing-work wood from the reuse sector. It shows that we can produce a wooden framework whose mechanical strength is equivalent to a standard structure by saving 50% of material and with reclaimed wood of short length.
The design was done using parametric software that sorts and arranges the pieces of wood. The production was done in a fab lab with a 3-axis digital milling machine that cuts and numbers non-standard parts.
The set was assembled by hand by 4 people in half a day.
