In classical French thinking, the building composition is the only element that determines a place's layout.
The garden is conceived as a strict extension of the building, the unique impression of human reason upon nature. Its layout follows the building's design and its rational geometry.

This project intends to take the counterpoint of this approach and to start from the garden, from the pre-existing place, in order to design the house. It proposes a shift in classical thinking by expanding the garden's topographical curves and the place's organic character into the building.
